Shanghai tourism promo set to break record with its scale

Shanghai is set to welcome one of the world's largest tourism industry events as Tourism Plus Shanghai 2025 kicks off this Sunday across four major exhibition venues in the Pudong and Puxi areas.
Running from March 30 to April 3, the event will occupy 700,000 square meters, showcasing thousands of new products across five exhibition clusters.
With over 6,000 exhibitors and an expected audience of 450,000 visitors from more than 140 countries and regions, this year's expo is set to be the biggest ever.
The event will highlight the integration of traditional industries such as hospitality, dining and retail with tourism — fostering a new model for all-encompassing travel experiences.
Additionally, the exhibition will feature 15 major industry categories, covering everything from raw materials and manufacturing to cutting-edge technology and services — demonstrating the deep connection between tourism and various sectors.
Among the key highlights, Intelli Sports will host the MetaSVS 2025 Shanghai Virtual Sports Open at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center. That's alongside a special event promoting new travel routes inspired by lure fishing — a trendy outdoor activity often referred to as the "golf of the water".
Meanwhile, the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) will host the HOTELEX Shanghai Coffee, Wine and Food Festival, offering a taste of global food culture while stimulating consumer engagement.
To extend the event's impact beyond the exhibition halls, the organizers have partnered up with Shanghai City Tour Card to launch a special edition Shanghai Pass. This commemorative card combines one-day cultural and tourism discounts with lifestyle benefits — giving exhibitors and visitors an enhanced experience of Shanghai's city life.
